Saint Pancras Chapel

Saint Pancras Chapel is a 13th-century stone chapel conversion on the outskirts of Washford, near Williton, at the edge of Exmoor National Park. The original features include stained-glass windows, exposed beams and an inglenook fireplace, and Washford has two pubs.

The sitting room and the dining room each have a woodburning stove, and the dining table doubles up as a pool table. The kitchen/diner has an AGA, and a second kitchen has laundry facilities, an electric cooker and an extra fridge. A king-size and a double bedroom are up one flight of stairs near the bathroom and shower room, and the twin is up a second set of stairs from the ground floor. The bathroom has a bath, basin and WC; the shower room has a walk-in shower. There is a dishwasher, WiFi and oil central heating alongside the stoves, and fuel, power, a starter pack for the stoves, bed linen and towels are included.

The garden has extensive lawns, a summer house, a barbecue, a croquet set, a stream and a holy well; children should be supervised near the stream and the well at all times. Off-road parking takes 4 cars, and the pub is 0.4 miles away, the shop 2.9 miles. A highchair and travel cot are available.

Dogs are welcome, but the number isn't stated, so confirm it when booking. They must stay off the furniture. The garden is enclosed, though its perimeter is not dog-proof, so keep watch. Smoking is not allowed, changeover day is Friday, and a good housekeeping bond is payable.
