The Anchorage - Somerset

The Anchorage is a bungalow in the village of East Pennard, near Shepton Mallet, with trees and pasture around it. Everything is on one level: a lounge with a Smart TV, a separate snug arranged around a Rayburn (guests are asked not to touch it), a compact kitchen and its own dining room. Two bedrooms, a king-size and a twin, are served by a single shower room with a walk-in shower and WC.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. A highchair is provided on request. Outside, the enclosed garden has an expansive lawn and a furnished patio, with views over the surrounding countryside and fields where local livestock graze. A small lockable shed is available for bikes, and parking is private and off-road for 2 cars.

Dogs are not allowed. The nearest pub, in neighbouring Ditcheat, and the shop are both 2 miles away. The beach is 30 miles away, while Wells is 10 miles and Glastonbury 9 miles. Check-in is from 4pm and departure is before 10am, and towels are included. The bungalow suits a couple, or a family of four, who want a quiet rural base on a single level.
