Field Cottage

Field Cottage is a Grade II stone cottage on a quiet lane at the edge of Shepton Mallet. It is believed to date from 1850, when it housed brewery workers, and it began as two cottages in a terrace of four. Pubs and shops are 0.2 miles away.

The sitting room has an open fire in an original fireplace, and the power and a starter pack for the fire are included in the rent. The kitchen has a gas range-style cooker, a microwave, a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher, and there is a dining table in the living room as well as one in the kitchen. Gas central heating, a Smart TV and WiFi are provided, with bed linen and towels.

Both bedrooms are upstairs. The double has an en-suite shower room, and the twin has an en-suite bathroom with a hand-held shower. Four guests is the limit.

Out the back is a lawned garden with a bistro table and chairs, and a field behind the house where a dog can run. One well-behaved dog is welcome. There is off-road parking for 2 cars and storage for bikes in the garage or shed. No smoking is allowed, children under 5 cannot be accommodated, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable.

It suits two couples, or a family with children aged 5 or over, who want a period cottage within walking distance of the town centre and a dog in tow.
