Maple Lodge

Maple Lodge is one of the New Oaks Farm Lodges, on a working livestock farm in the countryside around Keinton Mandeville, near Somerton. Compton Dundon is the nearby village. The lodge sleeps two. Its king-size bedroom holds a roll-top slipper bath as well as the bed, and the bedroom has direct access to the hot tub area. The en-suite has a walk-in shower, a double basin and a WC.

The living space is open plan, with a lounge, a dining area and a kitchen fitted with an electric oven, a gas hob, a microwave, a dishwasher and a washing machine. There is a Freeview TV with a DVD player and a Bluetooth sound system. Wi-Fi is available, but the signal can be weak and may not be enough for streaming or online gaming. A hairdryer, iron and ironing board are provided.

On the patio, which is not enclosed, there is garden furniture and a private hot tub, with views across the farmland. Charcoal BBQ hire is available. Parking for two cars is beside the lodge, and electric car charging is available for an extra charge. Early check-in and late check-out are available for an extra charge, subject to availability.

A shop and two pubs are within 0.5 miles, and a takeaway is 5.5 miles away. On the farm you can buy produce, book homemade meals for two, or join Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon farm tours, subject to availability. The small leisure pool offers private hire, Swim Fit sessions and tuition as optional extras.

Dogs are not allowed and the lodge is non-smoking. A refundable security deposit is payable on arrival. It is best for a couple who want a bath and a hot tub without leaving the bedroom.
