Harvester Lodge

From the decked veranda at Harvester Lodge you look over a coarse fishing lake, with wildlife passing through the owners' smallholding. This is one of four lodges on the site at Hewish; the other three stand next to it, and booked together the four sleep 24. Pets and smoking are not allowed.

Inside, one open-plan room holds the kitchen, a dining table and plenty of seating, with a wall-mounted TV and an electric fire. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. WiFi is provided, and fuel and power, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent.

Everything is on one floor. The main bedroom is a king-size double with TV and an en-suite shower, and the other two rooms, a twin and a smaller twin with 2ft 6in beds, share a bathroom with a bath and shower over. Two cars fit in the off-road parking. The lake beside the lodge is unfenced, so children must be supervised at all times, and the terms rule out stag and hen parties and working groups.

A shop is 2 miles away and a cafe or restaurant 100 metres away. It suits a family or group of friends who want a one-level lodge and a quiet lakeside outlook.
