Blenheim Lodge

Three bedrooms sit on the ground floor of this detached lodge. The king-size has its own TV and an en-suite shower; the other two are a twin and a narrower twin with beds of 2ft 6in, and a bathroom with a bath and shower over serves them. Six people can sleep here, and the whole lodge is on one floor.

The living area is open plan: kitchen, dining table and a sitting area with an electric fire, plus a decked balcony with furniture. Cooking is covered by an electric oven, a gas hob and a microwave, with a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. Two TVs with Freeview and WiFi are provided, gas central heating runs through, and bed linen, towels, fuel and power are all included. On a sunny day the reflections off the lake can be seen from the living area.

The lodge stands next to a coarse fishing lake on the owners' smallholding, on the edge of the village of Hewish, which has a traditional pub and carvery. Weston-super-Mare is 6.5 miles away. It is one of four lodges on the site, and the four sleep 24 between them. A shop is 2 miles away and a cafe/restaurant 100m, and two cars can park off the road.

The lake is unfenced, so children must be supervised at all times. Pets and smoking are not allowed, single-sex groups are not accepted and groups of workers cannot book. Although every room is on the ground floor, the lodge is not suitable for guests with limited mobility.

Best for a family or anglers wanting a single-level base with six beds.
