Down the Rabbit Hole
Single-storey log cabin for 6 near Congresbury, one small dog
Down the Rabbit Hole is a quirky single-storey log cabin on the outskirts of Congresbury, 1.2 miles from the village centre, close to the nearby village of Hewish. Its floor-to-ceiling doors slide open onto a patio, and the field beyond is home to pheasants, rabbits, hares and, with luck, deer.
All three bedrooms are on the ground floor. The super-king-size has an en-suite with a walk-in shower, and the other two are a double and a twin. A bathroom with a bath and shower over serves the rest. The open-plan living area holds the kitchen with its gas oven and hob, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine in the utility, plus a log burner and dining table. Underfloor heating is electric, and a travel cot and highchair can be rented on request. Fuel and power for the heating, bed linen and towels are included.
Firewood for the log burner costs extra and is paid to the owner on arrival. Charging an electric car at the cabin is not allowed. One small, well-behaved dog may come, and guests are asked to confirm in advance that only one is being brought; keep it on a lead outside. Smoking is not allowed, and a Good Housekeeping bond is payable. The rear garden has a lawn, patio and furniture, and parking is off the road.
It suits a family who want all the bedrooms on one level, and who would bring a single small dog.
