Braeburn Lodge

Braeburn Lodge is set in fields at Coxbridge, 5.4 miles from Glastonbury. Bookings run for two, three or four nights only, and the Glastonbury weekend should be checked before you commit.

A woodburning stove anchors the open-plan living space, and fuel, power and a starter pack are part of the rent. The kitchen has an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster, and the owner leaves homemade ready meals in stock for anyone who prefers not to cook. Highchair and travel cot are available on request.

Sleeping is for six: a king-size room, a twin room and a cabin-style double bed up a set of ladders, reached by steps, so take care with it. Linen is Egyptian cotton. The single shower room is outside, a few steps from the lodge, with a walk-in shower, a heated towel rail, a basin and a WC.

The private garden mixes lawn and gravel, so dogs have room, and there is sheltered decking for coffee and a cast iron barbecue for the evening. Up to two well-behaved dogs can stay. Parking is off-road, the shop is 1.4 miles away, the pub 2.2 miles and the river 0.5 miles. Smoking is not allowed. It works for a family or two couples sharing, especially with dogs.
