Batheaston House

Batheaston House is a historic residence in Batheaston, near Bath, set in 1.15 acres. The shop, pub and river are all 0.1 miles away, and the canal is 1.2 miles. The house keeps some very old features: a Tudor charcoal stove, 17th-century graffiti and a Tudor well that still works.

It is arranged over four floors. The lower ground floor holds a kitchen and pantry, a utility room and a cinema room with seats for 12, a big screen and streaming services. The house also has a dining room for up to 12, a sitting room with an open fire, a morning room and a conservatory. The six double bedrooms are on the first and second floors, some with en-suites, and there are two bathrooms with baths plus a shower room and a cloakroom with a WC.

The garden has a lawn, a patio, furniture, a greenhouse and a six-person hot tub in a secluded part of the garden. Private parking is available, and a travel cot can be provided. WiFi is included, along with fuel, power, a starter pack for the open fire, bed linen and towels. No pets are allowed and smoking is not permitted.

The booking terms are strict. Stays are three or seven nights only and by enquiry rather than online, stag and hen groups are not accepted, and parties are not allowed. A returnable deposit is payable directly to the owner before arrival, as well as a good-housekeeping bond.

It suits an extended family or a group of friends of up to twelve who want a hot tub and a cinema room.
