Barton Lodge
Single-storey house for 6 with 3 bedrooms and a pergola garden
Barton Lodge is a single-storey house in Porlock, inside Exmoor National Park, about a mile from Porlock beach. The shop is half a mile away and the pub 0.6 miles. The Salt Path is half a mile from the property.
Everything is on one level. The kitchen/diner has an American-style fridge/freezer, an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a tumble dryer. The sitting room has leather sofas, a feature fireplace, a TV, a DVD player and a selection of books. There are three bedrooms: a king-size, a twin, and a second twin whose beds zip and link into a super-king-size if you ask two weeks ahead. Between them are a bathroom with a bath and shower over and a separate shower room. Heating is electric.
The rear garden has a lawn, a patio and furniture under a pergola with seating for six. It is not enclosed and not dog-proof: badgers and foxes visit, so dogs need supervising. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Off-road parking takes three cars.
Power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent, WiFi is provided, a good-housekeeping bond is payable and smoking is not allowed.
It suits a family or two couples with up to two dogs who want all the bedrooms on one floor.
