Thornby

Thornby is a single-storey bungalow in the West Somerset village of Blue Anchor, looking out over Blue Anchor Bay, not far from Dunster. The West Somerset Railway's Blue Anchor station is 200 metres away, and trains can be seen going round the bay from the property.

The two bedrooms are a king and a twin, with views past the garden to the sea. A bathroom has a large walk-in shower, and a separate cloakroom has a basin and WC. The sitting room has leather sofas, a Freeview TV and an electric fire, and the kitchen/diner adds a fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Beyond it, a garden room with Velux windows and bi-fold doors looks over Exmoor, Minehead, the steam trains and the sea. Heating is gas central heating, fibre broadband WiFi is provided, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included.

The rear lawn is enclosed and has furniture, and steps lead down to it from the house with a handrail, so Thornby may be unsuitable for anyone with severe mobility difficulties. Parking is off-road for 3 cars, though there is a hump in the road at the drive entrance. The beach, the village cafe and the local pub are within walking distance, and Minehead is 4 miles away.

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out by 10am. A swimming pool and small gym are open to visitors except in school holidays. No pets and no smoking. It suits a couple, or two couples or friends, who want to stay by the sea in a bungalow with a view.
