The Olde Forge

The Old Forge is a character cottage in the village of Carhampton, near Minehead and Exmoor National Park, sleeping six. The sitting room has exposed roof beams, an electric fire that looks like a wood burner and a spiral staircase at its centre, with a snug off it that has a writing desk. The stained-glass windows are a feature of the bathrooms.

Three bedrooms hold the party: a super king-size zip/link that can be set up as twins on request, a king-size and a twin. There are three shower rooms, one of them en suite to the twin and one in the annex, and two cloakrooms. Some bedrooms are reached by the main stairs and some by the spiral staircase, which needs care. The kitchen/diner has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a tumble dryer, and a selection of books is provided.

Outside, a games room stands apart from the house, with a pool table, a large sofa and a TV. The garden is enclosed, with a gravelled area and furniture. Off-road parking takes two cars, but it is tight between walls, so go slowly. One well-behaved pet is welcome. The pub is 0.2 miles away, the beach 1.6 miles and the nearest shop 2.8 miles.

WiFi, a Smart TV, bed linen and towels are included, smoking is not allowed and a good housekeeping bond is payable. It suits friends or a family of six who want a games room and one pet along.
