The Milking Parlour

The Milking Parlour is a detached converted barn in Wookey, two miles from the cathedral city of Wells. Everything is on one level. The conversion kept wooden beams, 200-year-old Glastonbury roof tiles and stone drinking troughs, now used as plant holders.

The lounge has a high raftered ceiling and full-height windows along its length. The kitchen/diner opens onto a patio at the side, which looks over the owners' orchard. Of the two bedrooms, one has a double bed and the other twin beds, and a travel cot can be put in the twin room on request. There are two bathrooms: a wet room with a shower, WC and washbasin, and a bathroom with a bath, shower, WC and washbasin.

The kitchen has an electric cooker, a dishwasher, a fridge, a microwave and a washing machine. There is a TV/DVD, WiFi, and central heating with a wood burning stove. A highchair is available on request. Bed linen and towels are included. A heating supplement is added to holidays starting between 16 September and 27 May.

A neighbouring barn holds the games room, with table tennis and table football. Outside is a large patio, and guests share use of the owners' orchard barbecue. Children should take care in the orchard because of the leat. Parking is off the road for three cars. Smoking and pets are not allowed. The pub is half a mile away and the shop 2 miles.

It suits a family of four, or two couples, who want all the rooms on one level and a games room on site.
