The Linhay

The Linhay is a barn conversion in the village of Washford, laid out in two wings. Four bedrooms sleep up to nine, and every one has its own bathroom: a super-king-size with a bath and shower over, a king-size with a bath and a separate shower, a twin with a shower, and a family room with a double and a single bed, also with a shower. A ground-floor WC adds a fifth toilet. Two cots are available.

Downstairs there is a kitchen, a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, and a dining room that seats eight. The sitting room has a woodburning stove and patio doors to the decking, and the games room has a pool table. Dishwasher, WiFi, two TVs, a selection of books, a highchair and a stairgate are provided. Fuel, power, a starter pack for the stove, bed linen and towels are all in the rent. The sauna runs on a coin meter, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable.

Guests have sole use of the hot tub and the outdoor sauna. A private patio with furniture and a barbecue leads to a small lawned garden, which in turn opens on to a shared field. Off-road parking is for three cars, but the drive only takes family-sized cars up to people carriers.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Smoking is not allowed. There are outdoor steps and a stream in the grounds, and there may be some road noise. The shop and pub are a five-minute walk, partly along a road with no pavement.

It suits two families, or a group of friends, who want a hot tub, a games room and a pub within walking distance.
