The Forge

The Forge is a converted stable on the edge of Shipham, set in ten acres where horses graze and a riding arena is in use. It is one of four holiday homes on the same site, each with its own small garden, gate and front door, and it sleeps four. Bookings must start on a Friday.

The layout is split-level. The ground floor holds the sitting room, a king-size bedroom and a bathroom with a bath and a shower over it. Upstairs are the twin bedroom, which has its own en-suite shower, basin and WC, and the kitchen/diner, so breakfast comes with a flight of stairs. Because of the split levels, the cottage is not suited to anyone who has difficulty walking, or to small children.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge, a washing machine and a dishwasher. There is a Smart TV with free Netflix, WiFi and oil central heating, and bed linen, towels, fuel and power are all included in the rent. There is ample off-road parking.

Outside, the garden and patio take in the open land around the site, with room for a meal in the open air. The shop is 0.4 miles away and the pub 0.2 miles. No pets and no smoking are allowed, and a good housekeeping bond is payable. The Forge can be booked alongside the other three homes on the site for a group of 14.

It suits a couple, or a family with older children, who are happy with stairs between the bedrooms and the kitchen.
