The Coach House

This apartment occupies the first floor of a stone coach house, built in 1886, in the grounds of the owner's house in North Newton, near Bridgwater. The village is close to North Petherton. The apartment is entirely on the first floor, and the way up is by 16 external metal steps, so it is not suited to anyone who struggles with stairs.

One eaves bedroom holds a double bed and a single, which sets the capacity at three. The bathroom was added in 2018 and has a bath with an overhead shower, a basin and a WC. In the open-plan living area you will find a kitchen with a breakfast bar, a dining area and a sitting area with an electric stove, while electric convector heaters warm the rest.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge and a washing machine, and the owner's tumble dryer can be used by arrangement. There is a TV with Freeview, a DVD player and a selection of books and games. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included.

Parking is off the road and takes two cars. Outside there is a small gravelled sitting area with furniture, and you can share the owner's garden. That garden has an unfenced pond, so children need supervising. The motorway is roughly 0.75 miles away and some traffic noise carries. Pets and smoking are not allowed, and the apartment takes babes-in-arms and children over four only. Worker bookings are not accepted. A shop is 1.5 miles off and a pub/restaurant is a three-minute walk.

It suits a couple, or a couple with one older child, who are comfortable with a flight of outdoor steps.
