Surridge Farmhouse

Surridge Farmhouse is a detached Grade II listed farmhouse dating from the 17th century, near the hamlet of Waterrow at the foot of the Brendon Hills, on the edge of Exmoor National Park. The nearby town is Wellington. The shop is 4 miles away, the pub 1.5 miles and the beach 16 miles.

The house sits within a ring fence of 80 acres of pasture and woodland, which includes its own Iron Age fort. On the south-facing terrace is an illuminated hot tub for six, with a large lawned garden and a barbecue.

Downstairs are a kitchen/breakfast room with an AGA and a conventional oven, a dining room with a wood burning stove, and a 29ft sitting room with fireplaces at each end. There is also a games room with a TV/DVD, bean bags and table football, a walk-in larder and two cloakrooms. Central heating is supplemented by the wood burning stoves.

Five bedrooms are upstairs: a master with a 6ft double bed and an en-suite shower room, a double, a twin, a single and a king-size. Two further bathrooms have baths with hand showers, and one also has a shower cubicle. The kitchen has a dishwasher, a fridge, a freezer, a microwave and a washing machine, and the house has WiFi and a TV/DVD.

Parking is off-road for four cars. In extreme weather the hot tub may not be available for use. Water comes from a borehole that is regularly checked, and there is an unfenced pond within the grounds. Up to two pets are accepted, and smoking is not allowed. Bed linen and towels are included. It suits a family or two or three couples travelling together, who want a hot tub and a games room.
