Dean Farm

Dean Farm is a farmhouse in Fitzhead, near Taunton and Wellington, in 250 acres of farmland and woodland. It sits in a secluded valley down a winding track, overlooking old farm buildings, a mill lake and a water mill. Five bedrooms sleep ten: a super-king, three king-size rooms and a twin. Two bathrooms serve them, one with a bath and one a wet room with a shower, and there is a ground-floor WC.

Downstairs there are two lounges with open fires, and a dining room with a woodburner and a table for ten. The kitchen has a cream AGA, a Smeg electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, a wine cooler and a coffee machine. The utility room has a washing machine, a tumble dryer, a second fridge/freezer and a microwave. The first supply of logs is provided, and there are board games, a highchair and a Smart TV in the living room.

Outside is a terraced lawn with seating, charcoal barbecues and a pizza oven. Down a cut path through the meadow is a private tennis court. The grounds also include a walled garden and a wildflower meadow. A lake lies within the grounds, so children must be supervised at all times. CCTV runs at the property but works only when the alarm system has not been switched off.

Parking is private and off-road for five cars. Three dogs are welcome, with additional charges. The shop is two miles away, the pub two and a half and the beach 11 miles. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure before 10:00.

It suits a group of ten or two families who want a tennis court and open fires, as long as the lake is kept in mind.
