Shepherds Croft

Shepherds Croft is a barn conversion for two adults in North Petherton, near Taunton, on the edge of the Quantock Hills. Children are not accepted. The building is red brick, with a bi-folding front door that opens into a large open-plan room with wooden furnishings and ceiling beams.

The snug lounge has a sofa, an armchair, a TV with DVD and a wood burner. Beside it is a kitchen/diner with an electric oven and hob, a fridge, a microwave and a dishwasher. A washing machine and a freezer are in an adjoining outbuilding. Two steps up from the kitchen is the king-size bedroom, and the bathroom has a sink, a WC and a large walk-in shower. The floors are heated. The first bag of logs is included, with further logs at an extra charge.

The enclosed garden has a wood-fired hot tub, a patio, a table and chairs and a barbecue. There is ample private parking and a locked store for bicycles. A charging point for electric cars is at the owner's property about 100 metres away; charges apply and the timings must be arranged directly with the owner.

Two dogs are welcome and additional charges may apply. The pub and the shop are 1 mile away. The owner also lets Shepherds Linhay, which sleeps two. Shepherds Croft suits a couple who want a hot tub and a wood burner. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure is before 10:00.
