Scrambles Cottage

Scrambles Cottage is a Grade II listed house in Stoke-sub-Hamdon, a village near South Petherton. It is arranged over three floors, which is the main thing to weigh up before booking: a few steps lead up to the front, and steep stairs climb to the top-floor bedroom. The cottage is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

The living space is open plan, with the kitchen, dining area and a sitting area with a woodburning stove, and the cottage also has a utility and a cloakroom. The two double bedrooms are on the first and second floors, and they share a single bathroom with a shower over the bath. Cooking is on a gas hob with an electric oven and grill, and there are a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and freezer. The house has a TV and WiFi, gas central heating, and rent covers bed linen, towels, fuel and power. A cot and a highchair are available. A good-housekeeping bond is payable.

The front and rear gardens are not enclosed. The rear has a gravelled area and a lawn with patio furniture, and the exit through the back garden is shared. One car can use the allocated parking space. Shop and pub are 0.3 miles away. Smoking is not allowed.

Dogs are accepted: one large dog or two small ones.

The cottage can also be booked with 59 Ham Hill for a party of up to eight, if both are free on the same dates. It suits two couples or a small family happy with stairs.
