Greenslades

Greenslades is a detached house on the outskirts of Exford, a village in the middle of Exmoor, and the nearest shop and pub are five minutes away on foot. It sleeps 8 in four bedrooms: a super king-size double that can be set up as twin beds on request, with an en-suite shower, basin and WC; a king-size double with a TV and an en-suite bath with shower over; a further double; and a twin.

Besides the two en-suites there is a family bathroom with bath and separate shower, and a ground-floor basin and WC, so three bathrooms in all. The sitting room has a double sofa bed and a woodburner. A second woodburner stands in the kitchen with its dining area, next to a range cooker with an induction hob. There is also a utility room, and the house has a washing machine, a tumble dryer and a dishwasher.

Fuel, power and starter packs for the woodburners are included in the rent, as are bed linen and towels. The house has three TVs, one of them a Smart TV, with Freeview and Netflix, as well as a DVD player, WiFi and a selection of books, games and DVDs. A travel cot and a highchair are provided. In the garage there is a table tennis table.

The garden wraps around the front, rear and side, with lawn, a patio, furniture and a BBQ. Parking is off-road for six cars. The house stands on a hill and a few steps lead down from the drive to the back door, so keep that in mind with prams or heavy luggage. One well-behaved dog is welcome, and a second can come for an extra charge if it is booked in. Smoking is not allowed.

Bookings need a minimum of 3 nights, and in school holidays only weekly stays from a Friday are taken. A good housekeeping bond is payable. The house suits a large family or two families sharing, particularly those with a dog or two and children who will use the garden.
