Hoglets

Hoglets was a detached 19th-century barn before it was converted and extended, and it stands within walking distance of Exford in Exmoor National Park. It is reached through a five-bar gate at the end of a bridleway. Parking for two cars is beside the cottage, and EV charging is available for an additional cost, paid to the owner through a QR code on site.

The ground floor holds a kitchen/diner, a sitting room with a woodburning stove and patio door to the garden, and a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. A shower room with a walk-in shower is also down here. The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and a Smart TV and WiFi are provided. Stairs rise from the sitting room to three bedrooms: a king-size with far-reaching views and two singles, which together take four guests. The family bathroom has a free-standing bath.

Outside is an enclosed private garden with a patio, furniture and a barbecue. Steps lead up to a lawn and to a three-acre fenced and gated paddock; those steps may not suit anyone with limited mobility. Pets are not allowed, and the cottage is non-smoking. The shop is 0.9 miles away and the pub 0.8 miles.

From April to September the cottage takes full-week bookings only, and the same applies in the October half term; in peak season check-in is on Fridays only. A good-housekeeping bond is payable. It suits a family or two couples who want space outdoors and do not mind a walk of under a mile to the shop and pub.
