Deer View - Somerset

A wide entrance hall gives onto every room of Deer View, a contemporary bungalow on a farm in West Pennard, near Sticklinch. Glastonbury is a three-mile drive, Wells is eight miles and Wookey Hole Caves nine and a half. Footpaths start at the door.

The main space is an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with high ceilings, a Smart TV and bi-fold doors that frame views as far as Glastonbury Tor. The dining table converts into a pool table. The kitchen has an electric oven, an induction hob, a microwave, an American fridge/freezer and a dishwasher, and the utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Bedroom one has a super-king-size bed, a Smart TV and an en-suite shower. Bedroom two has a king-size bed and bedroom three has twin beds; each has a Smart TV. There is also a family bathroom with a bath and a separate shower, and a shower room with WC.

The garden is private and not enclosed. It is mostly paved, with seating for meals outside and a private hot tub. Guests can use the shared tennis court, and a small honesty shop on the farm stocks essentials and toys. Parking is ample and private. Half a mile takes you to a pub, and shops, pubs and cafes are all within four miles. Wellness treatments can be arranged on site.

Three dogs are the limit, with extra charges possible. Check in from 16:00 and out before 10:00. It suits a family or two couples with dogs who want everything on one level and a hot tub with a view.
