Buttercup - Somerset

Half a mile from the village inn at West Pennard, Buttercup is a stone house on the owner's farm, near Sticklinch. Glastonbury Tor, 2.5 miles away, can be seen over the fields from the back garden. Wells is nine miles away and Cheddar Gorge sixteen and a half.

The porch opens into a hall. On the left is the lounge, with soft seating, a wood burner and a Smart TV, and an arch leads on to the kitchen/diner. A feature Aga sits in the kitchen, alongside an electric oven and hob, a microwave, an American fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. The games room has a pool table that converts to a dining table, plus a Smart TV. A utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer, and a shower room is on the same floor.

Upstairs are four bedrooms, each with its own TV. Two have super-king-size beds and en-suite shower rooms, one is a double and one is a twin. The bathroom has a roll-top bath and a separate shower.

The patio-style garden at the back is enclosed, with bench seating. A gate and steps lead down to a second area, open to the fields but for guests' exclusive use, with a dining area and a hot tub. The tennis court is shared with the other properties on the farm. A small honesty shop sells essentials, and wellness treatments can be arranged on site. Parking is ample.

Bring up to three dogs; extra charges may apply. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure before 10:00. It suits a family or a group of friends travelling in a party of up to eight who want a games room, a hot tub and room for dogs.
