Cider Cottage - Minehead

Cider Cottage is a Grade II-listed converted coach house at Ellicombe, near Minehead, and half a mile from Dunster. It is single-storey and sleeps two. The open-plan lounge and dining area has a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and a Smart TV, and French doors open onto a private enclosed terrace with seating and a charcoal barbecue. The kitchen is small, with an electric hob and oven, a microwave and a fridge with an ice compartment.

The double bed is reached by two steps up from the dressing area, and the one bathroom has a shower over the bath. Wi-Fi covers the whole cottage, and a highchair, travel cot and stairgate can be requested. Four steps lead down from the terrace into a shared 2-acre sub-tropical garden with palms, a secret garden, a giant chess set and a children's swing. There is a communal fire pit, and guests can feed the goats and sheep in the paddock or meet the miniature Shetland pony.

The shared outdoor pool sits in its own walled area. It is heated from May to September and open 10am to 6pm, and from October to April it can be used for cold-water swimming by appointment. The shallow end has steps but no ladder or handrail. A sauna and ice bath by the pool are booked separately, directly with the homeowner. One car can park privately, and bikes can be stored securely.

Two dogs are allowed, with additional charges possible. A crate, bowls, towels, treats and a wash-off area are provided, and the pub is half a mile away, the shop a mile and the beach 1.5 miles. It suits a couple with a dog who want a pool and a garden to share.
