Castle View

Castle View occupies the first and second floors of a large Georgian house in the middle of Dunster, beside the church and the public gardens. The owner runs a bridal studio below. A gate and a flower-bordered footpath beside the building lead to the front door, and a flight of stairs goes up to the living space.

The open-plan room on the first floor combines a kitchen area, a dining table and a seating area, with a window onto the street below. Appliances include a microwave, fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher, and there is a TV with DVD player. The three bedrooms are under the eaves on the second floor: a king-size double with an en suite bath, a twin and a single, so the apartment sleeps five. A separate shower room serves the others, and the main bedroom has a view over the roofs to the distant sea.

Parking is allocated for one car, a short walk from the apartment. Pets are not allowed and the apartment is non-smoking. WiFi is suitable for light use only, such as email and browsing, not downloads or streaming, and the church clock chimes on the quarter hour. Central heating is supplemented by electric fires; fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. A cot and highchair can be requested.

It suits a family of up to five or two couples who are happy with stairs and want to be in the middle of the village.
