1 The Stables

1 The Stables is a barn conversion on a working farm in the village of Watchfield, near Highbridge. It is one of three barn conversions in the group, and it can be booked together with two of its neighbours for up to 13 guests in all.

Two king-size bedrooms take four guests. One has an en-suite with a walk-in shower, basin and heated towel rail. The other is served by the main bathroom, which has a bath with a shower over, and there is a cloakroom with a basin and WC as well. Bed linen and towels are included.

Downstairs, the kitchen/diner holds a double oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The sitting room has a woodburning stove, with fuel and power covered in the rent, and an air-source heat pump supplies underfloor heating on the ground floor. WiFi and a TV are provided.

Behind the house is an enclosed garden with a patio, and the drive has off-road parking for several cars. A highchair, travel cot and stairgate can be provided. The village shop is 1.5 miles away and the nearest pub 0.6 miles.

Pets and smoking are not allowed, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. Changeover day is flexible. It suits a couple or a small family who want a self-contained base in the countryside and don't mind that the property sits on a working farm.
