Wisteria Farmhouse - Somerset

Wisteria Farmhouse is a Grade II-listed house near Crowcombe, on the edge of the Quantock Hills, set in 11 acres of lawns, trees and shrubbery that guests can explore. The towns of Taunton and Minehead are both within 13 miles, Exmoor National Park is 5 miles away, and the nearest pub, restaurant and shop are 1.5 miles off. The closest beach is 8 miles away.

It sleeps 10 in five bedrooms: two king-size rooms and three doubles. The ground-floor double has its own kitchenette and en-suite shower room. The other four bedrooms are upstairs, reached by the original staircase from the second lounge, which the house's age leaves uneven in places. One king-size has an en-suite bathroom with a freestanding bath and separate shower. A family shower room with its own WC serves the rest of the floor, and there is one more WC.

Downstairs there are two lounges, each with a Smart TV, and a wood burner in the second. A record player is also provided. The kitchen has an AGA, two electric ovens, an induction hob, an American-style fridge/freezer with an ice machine, a coffee machine and a dishwasher. The utility room holds a washing machine, a tumble dryer and a small gym space with a Peloton bike.

Outside, the enclosed garden has a furnished patio, a barbecue, a fire pit and a hot tub. The heated outdoor pool is open April to October. Take care around the garden's stream, an unfenced pond and uneven medieval paving. An external security camera covers the driveway, which has ample private off-road parking. Up to three dogs are allowed, with extra charges possible. Private catering can be arranged directly with the owner.

It suits two or three families, or a group of friends, travelling together with dogs.
