The Old Goat Barn at Trout Cottage

The Old Goat Barn at Trout Cottage is a stone-built cottage at Catsgore, just outside Somerton. It is all on the ground floor and sleeps 2, in a single twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room. A second shower room, also with a basin and WC, is separate.

The cottage is detached from the owner's house next door. Cars go on a private driveway, with an undercover garage area that includes a tall freezer. Outside there is an enclosed patio garden with chairs and a table, and a separate enclosed paddock is for the exclusive use of guests and their pets, reached through a five-bar gate on the gravel drive. The views take in the garden, the pond and the owners' paddock.

The sitting room has a reclining leather three-seater sofa and an electric fire, and the kitchen has a dining area, electric oven and hob, fridge and microwave. There is a TV with Freeview. WiFi is provided, but the connection is slow and suits browsing rather than downloading. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

One well-behaved dog is welcome. The location is rural and isolated, with a shop and pub 1.5 miles away, and smoking is not allowed. It suits a couple who like country walks, with or without a dog.
