Stowey Mead Stables

Stowey Mead Stables is a detached house in the hamlet of Stowey, a short way from Bishop Sutton. It was once the stables to a former Dower house, and the roofbeams and exposed stonework still show it. Inside it sleeps eight across four double bedrooms.

Three of the doubles have en-suites with a walk-in shower, basin and WC; the fourth has a basin and relies on the family bathroom, which has a bath with a shower over, a basin and a WC. A separate cloakroom adds a further WC. The sitting room has leather Chesterfield sofas and a woodburning stove, and the kitchen/diner is built around an Aga, with a dishwasher, kettle and toaster. There is a separate utility room, and a washing machine and tumble dryer are provided.

Parking is off-road with plenty of space, and the garden has a lawn, a patio and furniture; it is not enclosed. WiFi, a TV and a selection of books are provided, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

The rules to know before booking: the house needs 48 hours' notice before arrival and a minimum stay of 3 nights. No pets and no smoking. A good-housekeeping bond is payable. The shop and pub are both 0.8 miles away. It suits two families or a group of friends who want a double bedroom each, and an en-suite for most of them.
