The Hideout - Clevedon

The Hideout takes up to three dogs, with additional charges that may apply, and that shapes who it suits: a stone-built barn on a farm site at the edge of Clevedon, sleeping four. The owner does not accept party groups or pre-wedding events.

The king-size bed and the family bathroom, which has a shower over the bath, are both on the ground floor. A staircase leads up to the twin bedroom, set under the eaves with skylights, where the two zip-and-link beds become a double if you ask at the time of booking.

The open-plan living space sits under a vaulted ceiling with roof lights and whitewashed stone walls. An L-shaped sofa faces the wood burner, and the first basket of logs is supplied. The kitchen area has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a washing machine and a coffee machine, and there is underfloor heating on the ground floor.

A large enclosed patio has garden furniture and a coal BBQ. Beyond it a wider garden holds a boules court, shared with one other cottage. One car can park, and extra space can be arranged with the owner. A travel cot and a highchair are available. The shop, pubs and beach are a mile away and the coast half a mile. Arrival is from 4pm, departure before 10am. It suits a family of four, or two couples, who want a bedroom and bathroom without stairs.
