ASH HOUSE

Ash House is a period house in the middle of Wincanton that sleeps ten across two floors. It featured in the first episode of the Channel 4 series Sarah Beeny's New Country Lives. All five bedrooms are en-suite: two super-king-size rooms, one of them with a Japanese sunken bath alongside its walk-in shower, and three doubles with walk-in showers. A further shower room on the upper floor brings the total to six bathrooms.

The living space includes a kitchen-diner with a wood burner and room for ten people at the table, a sitting room with a woodburning stove, and a games room. The kitchen has an oven, hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, kettle and toaster, and there is a dishwasher and a washing machine. Heating is gas central heating. A starter pack for the stoves is included, along with fuel, power, bed linen and towels. Smart TV, WiFi and a selection of books are provided.

The enclosed rear garden has a patio, lawn furniture and an eight-person hot tub heated by a wood-fired furnace, all under a large oak structure that also covers an outdoor kitchen and seating. A cot and a highchair are available.

Parking is in a public car park. Two well-behaved small to medium dogs are welcome, and smoking is not allowed. A good-housekeeping bond is payable. The shop and pub are each 0.1 miles away. It suits a large family or a group of friends who want a communal base with their own hot tub, and who are happy to use a public car park.
