Noah's Ark Zoo Farm

Wildlife & Animal Attractions

Noah's Ark Zoo Farm on the Clevedon Road at Wraxall: a charity-run zoo with a large elephant facility, daily talks, animal experiences and play areas.

A zoo run as a charity

Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm sits on the Clevedon Road at Wraxall, with a Bristol postal address and a North Somerset setting. It trades as a registered charity (number 1200719). The zoo calls itself home to the big zoo animals and says it has the largest elephant facility in the UK. Its website shows which animals you can currently see.

Alongside the animals there are daily talks and displays, keeper-led animal experiences, play and adventure areas, a farm shop and a parent and toddler group. Seasonal events include Pumpkinfest in autumn and Santa’s Library on select dates in November and December.

Getting there and parking

The zoo’s postcode for a sat nav is BS48 1PG. From the M5, leave at junction 20 and follow the brown tourist signs up Tickenham Hill to the Clevedon Road (B3128). From junction 19, take the A369 towards Bristol, turn right at the major traffic lights onto Beggar Bush Lane (B3129), then right onto the B3128. The zoo is about five minutes along on the right.

All parking is free. Without a car, the X6 bus from Bristol Bus Station to Clevedon stops at the zoo gate, though it does not run on Bank Holidays. There is no direct bus from Temple Meads, so take the number 8 or 9 into the bus station first.

Dogs, access and the ground underfoot

Only assistance dogs trained by Assistance Dogs UK member charities are admitted. Even they should stay out of the bird and duck walk-through and Wings of Wonder, and avoid newborn animals. If you are staying in a dog-friendly cottage, plan another activity for the dog that day.

The zoo says most of the site is wheelchair accessible, with some gravel paths, a few hills and uneven surfaces. A limited number of wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge, and the zoo strongly recommends booking one in advance. Check the zoo’s accessibility guide before you go.

Planning the day

Opening times vary through the year, and the zoo publishes a calendar on its opening times page. Tickets are sold online, with an early-bird discount for tickets booked five full days ahead. The daily talks and animal experiences shape the day, so look at the schedule before you set out. For a different kind of animal day nearer Weston-super-Mare, Puxton Park combines a farm with an adventure park and indoor soft play.
