Uphill Manor

Uphill Manor is a Grade II* Gothic castle in the village of Uphill, on the southern edge of Weston-super-Mare. It sleeps ten across four floors: five bedrooms, each with a king-size zip/link bed that can be set up as twins if you ask in advance, and each with its own en-suite bathroom. Two have walk-in showers and three have showers over the bath. One bedroom has a lounge area, and a king-size sofa bed can be added there on request for an extra charge.

The ground floor has a wood-panelled dining room that seats up to 18, a drawing room with a full-sized snooker table, a library, a study with a television and three hallways with carved wood and stencilled walls. The main kitchen has a Rangemaster cooker and dishwasher, a utility area has a washing machine and tumble dryer, and a smaller second kitchen adjoins the dining room. The first floor adds a games room with a 60-inch TV and a kitchenette. Two open fireplaces and a wood burning stove are provided, with a starter supply of fuel.

The grounds cover 18 acres, with croquet, badminton, outdoor table tennis, volleyball, darts, boules and a barbecue. Parking for 20 cars is off the road. An electric vehicle charging point can be used by prior arrangement, with an additional charge. The shop is 0.4 miles away, the pub 0.5 miles and the beach 0.8 miles. A hot tub can be arranged for an extra cost.

Bed linen, towels, WiFi and a welcome hamper are included. Pets and smoking are not allowed, and a bond is payable. The house is arranged over stairs, so it suits a large group or a celebration of up to ten guests who do not need everything on one level.
