Double House Farm

Double House Farm is a restored former farmhouse at Henton, near Wookey and Wells, laid out over three floors with exposed beams, stone walls and flagstone floors. A geothermal heat pump serves the underfloor heating and hot water. The shop is 3 miles away and the pub 1.5 miles. Electric, central heating and underfloor heating are all included.

The kitchen/diner has an inglenook fireplace, a double oven with a five-ring hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. A dining hall off the kitchen has a formal table and a stone fireplace. The sitting room has a smart TV, a CD/radio, books and games, and a double sofa bed. The garden room has a wood burner (the first basket of logs is included) and looks over the terrace to the Somerset Levels.

The master king-size suite on the first floor has its own sitting room and an en-suite shower room. That floor also has a second king-size room, a twin room, and a bathroom with a bath and a separate shower. On the second floor are two twin rooms and another bathroom with a bath and a separate shower.

Outside is a large enclosed patio with furniture and a charcoal barbecue, and a big lawn for ball games. A pond at the far end of the orchard and a fenced stream need supervision, and children must be supervised near the pond at all times. The water supply is private.

Group bookings may be checked to confirm the stay is a holiday, and some, including hen and stag parties, may not be allowed unless special arrangements are made with the owner, which can include a safety deposit. No dogs are allowed. It suits a large family or a group of friends.
