Bath House

Bath House is a detached cottage in the hamlet of Aller, a few miles from Langport, and it is a house for a big group: it sleeps 17 in six bedrooms. Week-long stays begin on a Saturday and the minimum stay is three nights. Stag, hen and similar parties are not allowed, and only the guests named on the booking may be on the property.

The sitting room has a large inglenook open fire, and the dining room has an oak table and a wood-burning stove. The kitchen has a breakfast bar, an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. Three king-size bedrooms are on the first floor, one with a private balcony. Upstairs there is a double room and two family rooms, one with a mezzanine loft holding twin beds. Two bathrooms, each with a bath and a walk-in shower, serve the house, and there is a downstairs WC.

The enclosed courtyard and lawn come with furniture, and an outdoor wood-burning stove is supplied with logs and a starter pack, with extra logs charged for. The house is run on solar panels. A hot tub can be hired for a fee; the owner gives the details. Oil-fired central heating, WiFi, bed linen, towels and fuel and power are in the rent, and a travel cot and highchair are provided. Parking off the road is ample.

Two well-behaved pets are welcome. The pub is almost next door and the shop is 2.3 miles away. The house is strictly non-smoking, and a good housekeeping bond is payable after departure, only if there is damage. It can be booked with a second property to sleep 19.

It suits a large family gathering or a group of friends who want fireplaces and a courtyard.
