Butcombe Farm House

Butcombe Farm House sleeps 24 and stands in 40 acres of fields and woodland between the villages of Butcombe and Blagdon. It is a Grade II listed stone farmhouse, with parts dating back to the 14th century, and the views run across the valley to the Mendip hills and Blagdon Reservoir.

Eight bedrooms are spread over two floors. The ground floor has a double and a twin, each with its own en-suite walk-in shower, and six more bedrooms are upstairs with en-suite access. Downstairs, the farmhouse-style kitchen has a double oven, two fridge freezers, an ice maker and a dishwasher, and its dining area seats up to 24. One sitting room has a woodburning fire with logs provided, and there is an open fireplace in another. There are also two TVs and WiFi.

The large private garden has a patio, a barbecue, a heated open-air swimming pool and two under-cover hot tubs with Bluetooth speakers. The pool is open from May to September. Towels are not provided for the pool or hot tubs, so bring your own. Parking takes up to 9 cars.

Three travel cots and highchairs are available, and infants must be under 2 and still sleeping in a cot. A washing machine sits in the kitchen, with a guest laundry annexe that has two more washing machines and a tumble dryer, run on coins. The nearest pub and shop are within 1.6 miles.

No pets and no smoking or vaping. Stag and hen parties are not accepted, nor groups under the age of 25, and a party breakdown must be completed on every booking. A good housekeeping bond is payable, and August bookings are for 7 nights only. It is best for a large family or a celebration party of up to 24 who are not bringing a dog.
